The compound is a polymer base of protective elastic coats casted from solution. .
The coat is designed to protect metals (steel, aluminum, nickel, titanium and alloys thereof) against corrosion in thermo- and oil- corrosive media, as well as acrylic plastic, glass cloth, lavsan, rubber, etc.
The rubber compound shows a good insulating behavior.. When cured, the coat is stable in air at a temperature from - 60 оС to + 250оС. It is resistant to oils, fuels, acid and alkali solutions at elevated temperatures..
The coat can find versatile use , e.g., as
- anticorrosive protection of electrolysis bath ;
- inner lining of reaction vessels to prevent reaction mass from sticking on the walls;
- anticorrosive protection of metal structures and bodies in mechanical engineering at elevated temperatures, when exposed to corrosive gases, brine or microorganisms;
- fuel-resistant protection of fabric hose;
- protection of air ducts and smoke stacks against acid flue gases..

Indices Requirements Tensile strength ( at break), MPa, min 15,0 Elongation at break, %, min 250 Rubber-to-metal bond strength (by peeling), kN/m, min 0.1 - Safety Requirement
- The rubber compound is non-toxic. Curing agent falls into the 3rd class of hazard by its effect on human body, i.e. it is a moderately hazardous substance The cured coat (film) is non-toxic. The working area should have a local and plenum-exhaust ventilation with the air exchange rate of 3 or more. All the operators should pass a preliminary and regular medical examinations. Persons under 18 are not allowed to work.. The compound is non-explosive, it burns when set on fire only;; the curative is fire-hazardous and non-explosive, its flash point is +84 oC., self-ignition temperature - plus 455oС. Fire-fighting means for the rubber compound - water, powder and carbon dioxide extinguishers, those for curing agent - felt, sand, special compositions СИ-ВК, СИ-2.
- Storage conditions
- Rubber compound should be kept at and under 35 oC, exposure to direct sunlight must be avoided..
- Warranty period of storage
- Working life of rubber compound is guaranteed for 6 months from the date of its preparation.
- Application manual
- Free the surface to be protected from soil and rust and dry it in air.. Dissolve some rubber compound in organic solvent (acetone, ethyl acetate) to a needed consistency, add a curing agent to the solution and coat the surface by dipping, spaying, brushing or spreading with a knife many times depending on the solution strength or requirements for the coat The coat ripens in air at room temperature in 1-2 weeks, at 150 oC - in 30 minutes. The coat consumption, in terms of dry rubber compound, is about 200g per 1 squ. m of the surface..
