Thesubcommittee #5 “RubbersandLatices” (SC 5) isoperatingonFSUE “ISR” baseasapartofthetechnicalcommittee 160 “Petrochemicalcomplexproducts” (incompliancewiththeAnnex 1 toFederalAgencyorder#5518 ontechnicalregulationandmetrology, of 2010.12.29.

SC 5 takeguidancefromSC 160 Principlesandworkonthenationalandinternationalstandardizationinthefieldsofchemical, physical, physico-mechanicalmethodsfortestingrawrubbersandrubbergoods.

SC 5 members – FSUE “ISR” specialists – areexpertsinISOTC45“Rubberandrubberproducts”. TheytakepartsinthedevelopmentandrevisionsofinternationalstandardsintheframeworkofbothSC 2 “Testsandanalyses” andSC 3 “Rawmaterials (latexincluded) forrubberindustry”.Moreover, standardsunderdevelopmentbyISO TC45 WG10 and WG16 (terms and environment protection) are also within the scope of SC 5.

SC 5 precursor, TC 126, havealreadydone a considerable amount of work. Standards were under development for sampling/sample preparation and rubber compounding methods with allowance made for ISO requirements. Nationalstandardshavebeendevisedforrubberquality assurance methods (for PB, PI, SBR and others).

Works carried out over the last yearsonISO 1382:2012 “Rubber – Vocabulary”forthefirsttimesucceededintheadditionto the standard ofcommonly used in rubber industry terms in Russian.

The subcommittee 5 haverecentlypreparedProjectofupdating/formation of a single standard technical documentation onthe quality assurance, mandatory for all manufacturers and users, ISO/ASTM standards requirements being allowed for. Pleasefindthefurtherinformationhere.
